I started out the year new in art because it was my first year taking that elective. It seemed as though everyone knew what they we doing and I was just a step behind. I eventually learned to quicken my tasks and I was able to fit right in. Being the quick worker I am, I've accomplished many things and I've learned to paint, shade, and smooth art the right way. I have definitely improved a lot and I really enjoyed taking this class! It has been such an experience and I hope to take it again so more improvement can be done!

Being a first grader once at Van Sciver we had a time capsule that we got to place one memorable item in. I don't remember what exactly I placed in there but that is the point. Now I am doing a time capsule again but this time it definitely has more meaning. Inside of this time capsule you will find art pieces of mine that I worked on this year. There was most definitely progress from the beginning of the year to now. I'm a very quiet worker and can easily get the things that I need done, completed. Also you will find letters of mine and notes from friends just talking about things that happened a couple months ago. Placed items in this box has made me see the change and maturity in me coming out. As the year is coming to an end I will not be able to open this until years from now. It should be a great surprise and I can't wait to see how theses items look long from now.

The slow moving water had a reflection of the crescent moon and shinning stars. The summer night was quiet with music playing softly as it became later. My eyes had been set on one thing and one thing only, the most prettiest hazel eyes I've ever seen. The warm water moved around us as we sat on floats at the center of the pool. Mouths kept quiet as we stared at each other with smiles on our faces.
The silence was broken with giggles from me as I got lifted up and carried around the pool. That didn't last very long only because I was tickled and thrown away from the center. I remember floating back up to the top and hearing the water hit the rocks outside the pool. I took water in my hands and splashed him with it making him laugh.
The night got darker and the chill of the summer air started to pick up. It was time for me to go in and for him to go home. But every night was spent that way and the next day would be the same. We picked right back up where we left off the night before and just continued.

First off who doesn't like fortune cookies?! This whole project was awesome! Picking an idea from seven fortunes was really different but so cool. Every fortune can mean something different to everyone else but what you think of it matters most. Creating something with one fortune was fun and could lead into something really special. I enjoyed doing this a lot and having my fortune hidden in its own way.
This project was by far really fun and unique. Starting out with one idea then switching papers and creating another was cool. The whole time it kept you on top of your feet because you could see something completely different than someone else. Changing someone else's art was fun because it was a different feel and the result after the three switches was really awesome.
Pop Art was a fun way to be creative and let yourself go without having to worry much about how exactly something will look. Little details that could be mistakes may look really cool in the end when any copies are made. Making copies of these stamps were awesome and could be done anyway with any color paper and ink.
